FRONTLINE and NPR investigate the humanitarian and economic crisis in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria, examining how the federal response, Wall Street and years of neglect have left the island struggling to survive.
Import Genius Data shows that the company contracted for providing tarps in the disaster relief has imported them from China, which multiple companies were halted from doing in previous contracts. With using this data and their own investigations, PBS Frontline & NPR were able to dig further into what happened, and why humanitarian support was delayed for so long.
